Bringing the Horse back to life
We love the great British country pub. It's a cultural institution you won't find anywhere else in the world. As a nation we're losing far too many, and once they're gone they never come back.
So when our local, the White Horse, closed in 2021, we were determined to bring her back to life.
We're a close-knit team of well-trained, dedicated people all working towards the same goal. Liz is the landlady and chef, helped by her partner Russ, a draughtsman and designer, along with a dedicated team of locals who are pub enthusiasts too.
After an extensive refit, the White Horse Inn opened on 21 November 2022 with a simple mission: the best service in a cosy atmosphere, the best-kept beer in the area, and honest, home-cooked food at a good price.
CAMRA and the Good Beer Guide
In 2023 we were awarded LocAle accreditation by CAMRA, for serving locally brewed real ale. We're listed in the Good Beer Guide, and in 2025 we were named South East Sussex Country Pub of the Year.
