- ParkingOur own car park has plenty of room to get in and out of your vehicle. It is sloped, though we haven’t found this a problem. Please use the nearer half. It’s 30–50 metres to the pub, crossing a quiet but main road. We can arrange parking on our garden driveway by the side door; please call to arrange.
- Front entrance (A)785 mm (2′ 7″) wide, with a slightly slanted step of 200 mm (8″) at its highest, and a standard-height cobbled kerb.
- Side entrance (B)Easier: 790 mm (2′ 7″) wide with a small 170 mm step, reached by a smoother, flatter path or the garden driveway.
- RampWe have a 4-foot aluminium ramp for the side door, 750 mm (2′ 5″) wide, with a fairly shallow gradient of about 1:12. It can be used at the front door, but the gradient there is much steeper.
- ToiletsOur toilets suit people who can stand and walk short distances. Space is limited in both the ladies and the gents, with not enough room to turn a wheelchair, so please bring someone to help; reversing out may be the only option. The narrowest door is 740 mm (2′ 5″). We don’t have baby-changing facilities yet, but they are planned.
- SeatingThe pub is naturally split into two halves: the pub side (green on the floor plan) and the restaurant (lilac). The areas marked 1 to 3 are great for wheelchair users, with plenty of space around for assistance, and are among our most popular tables.
- After darkThere’s no street lighting in Bodle Street Green, and our road has plenty of pot-holes that are hard to see at night. If you’re visually impaired, you may prefer your driver to drop you off near the door. Please bring a torch, or we’re happy to walk you to your car with ours.
White Horse Road: it’s not just a road, it’s a challenge
Our regional management kindly provide an extensive and ever-changing variety of pot-holes, giving you a rustic, safari-style off-road experience on every visit. If you own a steamroller, a tractor or a tracked military vehicle, you’re in luck.
Please drive carefully, especially in the wet when puddles hide the damage. And please don’t drink and drive: you’re likely to spill it.
And the kitchen? Never enter it if you value your safety. It’s home to our highly trained but as-yet untamed staff, well armed with knives and fire.
